Congratulations to our P7 year group who participated in the James Gillespie’s High School Christmas Concert 2018 at the Usher Hall.
Preston Street pupils formed part of a combined P7-S1 choir, along with their counterparts from James Gillespie’s, Sciennes, Royal Mile, Tollcross and Parkside primaries, and S1 pupils from JGHS. This has become something of a tradition in recent years and the annual concert forms a great opportunity for primary pupils to get involved in high school life and get to know some of their future classmates and teachers!
There were less than two months from the first get-together to the concert itself, so the staff and pupils of all schools deserve great credit for putting together such a coherent performance.
The choir performed three songs, and also participated in the grand finale at the end of the concert along with all 700+ performers from P7 through to S6. Here are some highlights:

Overall it was a fantastic evening’s entertainment and it was great to see so many former Preston Street pupils confidently taking to the stage – even if it can make some of us feel a little old when we see our former ‘children’ are now in S6!
Thanks to everyone from JGHS and the cluster primaries for providing such a fantastic opportunity for our young people, and putting together such a great show!
