We take an active approach to ensuring that LGBT+ inclusion is at the heart of our curriculum and the wider life and ethos of the school.
Ways in which we do this include:
- Celebrating LGBT+ History Month each year across all classes;
- Ensuring that pupils are able to learn about LGBT+ history throughout the year within the curriculum, including opportunities to learn about inspirational LGBT+ figures;
- Ensuring that all our families are valued and celebrated, and ensuring that children are able to see and value different types of family relationships (including LGBT+ relationships);
- Participating in Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood curriculum;
- Ensuring that all homophobic, transphobic and gender-based discrimination is robustly challenged;
- Providing a safe space for staff, parents and pupils through participation in the ‘Time for Inclusive Education’ framework.
