At Preston Street we are doing the following to support race equality and anti-racist education;

• Celebrating Black History Month each year across all classes;
• Ensuring that pupils are able to learn about Black history throughout the year within the curriculum;
• Raising the visibility of people from minority groups in areas where they have previously been under-represented – e.g. during Maths Week Scotland in 2022 pupils learned specifically about the contribution of female mathematicians from minority ethnic groups;
• Ensuring that children and staff are able to participate in discussion and learning around the decolonisation of the curriculum;
•  Monitoring data and ensuring that opportunities to learn and participate in wider achievement are open to all pupils.
