20 of our P6 and P7 pupils visited George Watson’s College on Monday 27th May for the annual ‘B’ schools Interscholastics competition. This annual event is always one of the high points of the sporting calendar and this year proved to be no exception, with exciting competition throughout the day.

Our team put in a strong performance on the track and we reached five finals over the course of the day.  Special congratulations are due to our P6 girls’ relay team of Lilah, Zara, Macyn and Emili who won a silver medal in their event.

Our other finalists were:

  • Emili (P6 girls’ 80m sprint)
  • Laurence (boys’ 600m)
  • P7 boys’ relay team (Sorley, Daniel, Dharun, Josh)
  • P6 boys’ relay team (Yiannis, Caleb, Tommy, Leon)

Our P7 girls’ relay team (Mairi, Molly, Amelia and Stefania) also reached the semi finals of their event.

We had a particularly strong showing in the relays this year and this was due in no small part to the hard work of our parent coach, Ray Ward, who helped ensure all four relay teams were well prepared.

There are still a number of sporting dates left this term, including the Schools’ Orienteering Festival; a couple of end of year football festivals; and of course our school Sports Day on 14th June.

Thanks to everyone at EPSSA for organising an exciting and enjoyable Interscholastics event, to George Watson’s College for being excellent hosts once again, and to all the various winners and competitors from all the schools who took part.

Finally congratulations to our team:

P7 – Josh, Sorley, Daniel, Dharun, Kara, Laurence, Amelia, Stefania, Mairi, Molly
