Today’s story is Elmer by David McKee who is a beautifully coloured patchwork elephant. In this story, Elmer goes out of his way to disguise himself but soon discovers why being a little bit different can actually be a gift.

During your walk, can you find things which are ‘Bigger’ or ‘Smaller’ than you?
Here are some ideas for you:

In preparation for returning to school, you could also investigate things which are more or less than 1m (100cm = 1m) You could measure 2m with string, strips of paper etc.  and use these to measure things that are 2m around us.
