We have been very busy learning the scientific method through experiments. This week we put eggs in vinegar to see if there would be a chemical reaction. Ask your children what happened.
We’ve been applying the scientific method to our own experiments for our P7 Science Fair that will happen next week. We have three judges that work in STEM fields coming in to see the hard work we’ve done. Here is that hard work in action.
The last two weeks have been heavy with literacy as well. We had a nonfiction book pass, and got together with 7A to chat about what it is like to read nonfiction instead of fiction.
It was also National Book Week (see more about that here) and we celebrated by dressing up and holding two trials. We’ve been reading The Westing Game as a full class in which there is a bomber, a bookie, a burglar, a mistake, and a murderer. We made a hypothesis as to who the bomber and bookie were and put them on trial. P7A served as our jury and court reporters (Mr Anderson).
