Our P5 pupils enjoyed a fantastic Activity Day with pupils from Royal Mile Primary School on Thursday.
Pupils from the two schools participated together in outdoor activities during the morning, including team games and den building. After a picnic lunch, we then moved to the Crags Sports Centre for further activities: dance in the dance studio, basketball with coaches from Blaze basketball club, climbing on the traverse wall and football on the mini astroturf pitch.
Thanks to everyone from both schools for making it such a fantastic day, and huge thanks to everyone at the Crags Centre for allowing us to use this great community facility, and to Blaze for providing basketball coaching.
We have run a number of joint activities between Preston Street and Royal Mile this year in P5 and P6. It has been great to see the pupils developing confidence and making new friends, and the experiences which our young people have enjoyed this year will be of great benefit when they move on to high school – particularly since many of the pupils will be attending James Gillespie’s High School together.
Well done to all involved – here are some photographs from an exciting and fun-packed day.
