Our annual ‘Winter Series’ cluster running programme started on Wednesday afternoon at the Meadows. The series involves pupils from various cluster primary schools taking part in a weekly race or fun run. It was great to see four schools participating yesterday – well done to the staff, pupils and parent helpers from Sciennes, James Gillespie’s, Royal Mile and Preston Street for their efforts.

We were delighted to have 45 runners from across P4-7 participate in this event and hope for an even higher turn out next week.

Following the cancellation of last week’s event due to torrential rain, we were fortunate to enjoy a dry and clear autumn afternoon this time round. Pupils participated in either a competitive race (with points for the top ten boys and girls, which will be added up each week to choose an overall winner) or a shorter ‘fun run’ which allows younger or less experience children to be included.

Thanks to Iain Gray at James Gillespie’s PS and his team of staff and volunteers for hosting yesterday’s event. We look forward to hosting next week at our side of the Meadows and hope for similar weather conditions!

Here are some pictures from yesterday’s event.
