Our P6 and P7 year groups visited the University of Edinburgh Playing Fields this week for a session on the athletics track. It was great for pupils to have the opportunity to run on a proper athletics track with lanes and also served as some preparation for those of our pupils who will be attending the Interscholastic Athletics competition on Monday.

Pre COVID, we usually participated in a series of track visits in May and June, and we hope to return to this pattern next session; however this term has been particularly busy as the recent lifting of COVID restrictions for schools has meant a range of events have taken place in May which would normally be more spread throughout the year, so we were restricted to a single outing this year.

Following initial practice sessions, we held some relay races and a mini competition at the end, which were accompanied by a lot of noise and excitement from the sidelines!

Thanks to our two parent helpers, Nicky Brown and Tammy Cheuk , who came along at short notice to help accompany pupils there and back.
