The last few weeks of term were exceptionally busy. Hopefully the photos above give you a flavour of what has been going on in the classroom. Here, in brief, are some of the highlights of recent weeks :-

  • the collaborative artwork we created with P7B for Holocaust Memorial Day, where the children were excellent ambassadors for the school at the City Chambers
  • our year group abstract lion piece of art that was truly stunning
  • working in groups to achieve a task to a deadline is challenging and a key skill for taking forward into the world of work. We created some interesting paper cities and a powerful package of propaganda posters for our WW2 topic
  • in health and wellbeing we have been focusing on respecting ourselves and improving our self esteem. This class is so supportive of one another and we really helped each other to see the good to celebrate in ourselves
  • We came together as a year group to watch War Horse and we had some very mature and interesting discussions around the similarities and differences between the book and the film (the book was preferred by nearly everyone – not that I am biased!)
  • we have been working hard on our times tables, setting our own targets to improve in this area. This has had a positive impact on our learning about fractions, decimals and percentages

The class remain focused and enthusiastic about their learning across the curriculum and it has been wonderful to watch them continue to learn from, and support each other.

What to look forward to this term? A science fair, a trip to the Risk Factory oh and of course….CAMP!
