All our classes enjoyed this morning’s Christmas Assembly, which in the best traditions of 2020 was held online!

While we were not able to visit St Peter’s Church as we normally do, we were able to hear from Reverend Nick Wills, and also hear music played inside the church by two of our talented parents, Harriet Davidson and Phil Alexander.

There were also contributions by our P7 pupils as well as some festive poems from P4 and P4/5. Current restrictions have made it very challenging to produce our usual range of festive concerts, but we are pleased to have been able to showcase at least some of our pupils’ talents.

The assembly is available to view below – we hope you enjoy watching at home:

Many thanks to everyone involved in the video, particularly Nick, Phil and Harriet for being kind enough to provide us with their input.

Please note that this version is slightly shorter than the one which was broadcast in school – this is due to the fact that we are limited to a maximum of 15 minutes per video on our YouTube site. (The in-school version featured slightly longer poems from some pupils, and the Christmas photographs went by at a more leisurely pace!)

This morning we also premiered a special Christmas video across all of our classes featuring familiar faces from around the school! You can watch this here:

Continuing the theme of providing as ‘normal’ a Christmas as possible in this most challenging of years, our classes have been enjoying their Christmas parties this week, along with various other festive activities (please note some classes are having their parties either today or on Monday).

Here is a selection of pictures from around the school – some of which were in the above assembly presentation. These are in no particular order and designed to give a flavour of the excitement and atmosphere across the school – details of individual class activities will be found within your child’s own class blog.

On behalf of the school, we hope everyone within the Preston Street community – pupils, parents and staff – enjoys the last couple of days of term, and we wish you all a relaxing Christmas break.
