Welcome to our Friday Coorie-in with Mrs McLaughlin. Our Coorie-in Family reading initiative started at Preston Street in November 2019. This initiative involved our families coming together for a weekly storytelling session with Mrs McLaughlin and Miss Nimbley. This was followed by a shared craft activity.
Due to the current restrictions, we have not been able to get together to ‘Coorie-in’ at school but our staff and families have continued to upload stories onto our ‘Coorie-in’ Bedtime story channel. If any of our families would like to record a story for us then please do get in touch.
Today’s story is called, Ellie’s Magic Wellies by Amy Sparkes, illustrated by Nick East and published by Edmont. Please click below to listen to the story.
During this time, Mrs McLaughlin will record a weekly story for our P1-3 pupils. This will be uploaded to the Class Blog at 12pm every Friday. You can also access the story from our Preston Street Youtube Channel.

Developing language and literacy skills begins at birth with everyday loving interactions, such as sharing books, telling stories, singing songs and talking to one another. Preston Street Primary has long been known for its love of reading. So, I hope you are able to take the chance to Coorie-in together and enjoy today’s story.
Coorie-in!
Mrs McLaughlin
