The teams from all four houses at the end of an exciting competition.

Our P6 and P7 footballers gathered on the Meadows this morning for our annual House Football Competition.

This competition was introduced in 2018 and we were delighted to run it again this year. Once again, all four houses played against each other in a spirit of friendly competition, with boys and girls playing together in each team. (The house competition, as with all football at Preston Street, is run on an inclusive basis and everyone who wants to play is able to do so. Those who chose not to play were also at the Meadows where they participated in outdoor art activities – and in some cases did a bit of spectating as well!)

Congratulations to Lutton who were winners for the second year running. Your trophies and medals will be presented at tomorrow’s P4-6 achievement assembly.

Lutton were run close by runners-up Clerk, and only a last minute winner in the very exciting final match between the two houses secured their victory. Well done also to Oxford (3rd) and Newington (4th) for competing well throughout the morning. There were some very entertaining games and the whole morning really summed up the inclusive and friendly spirit which characterises our upper school community.

Thanks to Nick Colegrave who helped accompany the pupils and also took photographs of the various games. We are fortunate to have many parents who give generously of their time to allow trips and other events to happen, and we greatly appreciate this.

Well done to everyone involved. We eagerly await June 2020 to see if Lutton can make it a hat trick of wins, or if another house will claim the crown!
