Hello!

I can’t believe we are already halfway through Autumn – the weeks are flying by! And what a busy couple of weeks they have been!

We got stuck right back into work after the October Half Term Holidays but also managed to squeeze in some fun Halloween activities too! Thank you so much to all the parents who came in and organised all the fun!

As October came to an end, we finished our Black History Month group projects on NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson – we learned a lot about her, her life and her legacy, and we turned our findings into these fantastic posters.

Our weekly drumming is continuing up until Christmas and we are really enjoying working in groups to create our own beats and rhythms.

We have no topic this term but will be doing a variety of small projects until Christmas. Over the past couple of weeks, we have been involved in a Minecraft Build League where we were tasked in pairs to design and build a Moon Base suitable for humans to live in. It has been a creative challenge but one we have enjoyed and excelled at (especially those of us who had never used Minecraft before).

In maths, we are focussing on bar modelling. In writing, we are looking at descriptive story writing as well as describing the characters, settings and plots of our reading novels. Sadly, our Tuesday tennis sessions are finished but we have been enjoying our split PE activities with P5 going along to the Crags Sports Centre for basketball with the rest of the P5 year group and P6 joining the rest of P6 and P7 for athletics.

Have a lovely week!

Miss Arnott
