Our P1 pupils enjoyed their very first Preston Street Sports Day at the Meadows on Tuesday morning.

While Sports Day is usually a whole school event, things are a little different this year due to COVID restrictions, with the school holding a series of ‘mini sports days’  over the course of the week. This morning it was the turn of P1A and P1B to represent their house.

The pupils participated in a range of fun relay activities, including old favourites like the sack race and egg and spoon race, where they worked to earn points for their house.  It was wonderful to see and hear all the smiles and laughter in the sunshine!

After eight fun activities, the winning house for the P1 Sports Day was our red team, Newington. Congratulations to you all! The points earned by all four of our houses (Newington, Clerk, Lutton and Oxford) will also be added to the totals from all our other sports days, to decide which house will win the Winning House Shield for 2021.

Following the relay activities, we finished with traditional ‘class races’. Well done also to all our winners:

Finally, well done to all our P1 sporting superstars! We hope you enjoyed your first Sports Day and are already looking forward to next year!
