Each week the children will be assigned one book to read which will be an oxford reading tree book similar to the ones they have been reading all year. The books are ebooks and they are available for free on the website https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/reading/free-ebooks/ .You need to create an account first (free) but after that it is free to use. There are also loads of other books on there that your child might like to read for fun.

This weeks books for the different groups are:

Red group- Leek Hotpot

Yellow group- The strange beast

Orange group- Paris adventure

Green group- Finn MacCool

If you would like to get in contact with Miss Groarke you can do so by emailing the Preston street admin account at admin@prestonstreet.edin.sch.uk or by contacting Miss Groarke directly on teams by typing @Aisling Groarke in the general channel followed by your message.We are asking parents to choose one piece of learning or photograph to share with us each week.We are going to strongly encourage parents to share this with us on the share our learning channel on teams.

Sumdog

I have set up a maths and a spelling challenge on sumdog that the children can access on Monday as an additional/optional task. The challenges will run for the entire week.

As always please bear in mind that this is an exceptional stressful time and there is no obligation for the children to complete all of the learning. You choose what is manageable for you and your family on any given day. Best of luck and stay safe. Miss Groarke x
