P3/4 have enjoyed our first two visits to the school library! We have had fun choosing books to take home to read.
In maths, the children started learning about time. They made posters about why it is important to learn to tell the time and made their own analogue clocks. We have been learning to read o’ clock, half past, quarter to and past. We have also been developing our understanding of multiplication and division.
In literacy the children have been learning to take notes from a video about a Rainforest animal. They used these notes to write a fact file.
We were also developing our reading comprehension skills when answering questions about a story. We started learning about newspaper reports. The children have designed their own rainforest animal and used this as a stimulus for their writing. We wrote a plan for our newspaper report and used this to write the report.
The last few weeks during RME, the children have been learning about different religious celebrations.
In science the children have had lots of fun learning about different types of energy and they made a mini model of a wind turbine when learning about renewable energy!
We have now learned about all layers of the Rainforest and the animals and plants within each layer.
In P.E we have started learning gymnastics. So far we have been learning about different balances and how to to a pencil roll.
Keep safe,
Miss Inglis and Miss McAuslane
