Our P5-6 department had a wonderful time at our whole school picnic at the Meadows on Wednesday afternoon.
Pupils rotated round a variety of activities throughout the day, ranging from the quiet and peaceful to the loud and energetic, before enjoying some time in the Meadows playpark to finish the day off. Apologies as we were all so busy enjoying ourselves that we only have a limited range of photos!
We are indebted to Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club and Edinburgh University Orienteering Club for providing an orienteering maze which was the highlight of the day for many of our pupils (and staff!) Thanks to Judy Bell and her team from Edinburgh Southern (including our regular parent helper, Elspeth Bleakley) and Mairi Eades from Edinburgh University for their input throughout the day. If your child enjoyed this part of the day, feel free to visit Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club to find out about forthcoming events which you and your family might enjoy.
Huge thanks are also due to our P5-6 staff team of Mrs Smyth, Miss Bryant, Mr Durkin, Miss Karanochoriti, Mrs Davidson and Miss Barbour for putting on such a fun-filled and active day for our young people.
Finally, thanks to everyone in P5, P5/6 and P6 – we’re proud of you and hope the picnic was a suitable way to thank you for all your hard work this year.
