Well P7b we have made it to the end of the first week of the summer term and our third week of home learning, all a great achievement in itself and one that should go onto our achievement wall !

As you may be aware next week the format of home learning is changing slightly. I along with the other teachers are going to be posting work on the website on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There will be a document that I will put on our web page that will detail the work I have set. The document will be in a grid layout with core learning tasks, fortnightly optional learning tasks and any time tasks for you to complete. As always everything you do or choose to do must fit in with your family life, and as always you can contact me through our Team page on Microsoft Teams to ask questions or just to say hi.

As for tomorrow’s literacy learning I would like you to complete your book commercials and carry on writing your stories. Then go outside if you are able and read a book.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has sent me either their book commercial or their story (Or both) I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them and giving feedback.  It helps me to still feel connected to you as I am missing you all very much.

Stay safe and remember to have fun.

From Mr Anderson

Good morning P7B. Before we find out today’s curriculum area, I would like to thank everyone who took part in my Social Studies challenge this week. The response has been amazing as I received lots of posters and PowerPoints. If you would like to see the collection then click on the today’s P7A blog to check them out.

STEM

Today is STEM Friday so we are going to continue with our Dyson Challenges. I realise not every challenge can be done just now due to ongoing circumstances so you and your family are under no obligation to partake in them. Likewise, there is no rush in completing them all so limit yourself to one challenge each Friday/weekend.

I hope you have an amazing weekend with your family. My plan is to do a big cycle of Edinburgh.

Stay safe. Mr. Anderson 🙂

From Ms Craig

Happy Friday P7s!

Another beautiful day yesterday.  Just the right amount of sunshine for some outdoor exercise. I was able to get a socially distanced run in.  I hope you were able to enjoy some of the sunshine.

I hope you’ve had a good week back to home learning.  I know I am happy to be posting again.  So, I thought it would be fun to search old posts and repost a few blasts from the past that might make you smile.  I know these were all fun teaching days!

Next week we are going to start delivering maths lessons a little differently.  Mr Parkin and I will probably be with you every other week.  And, there will be a return of one of your favourite maths teachers!  We will explain more on Monday.

So, for today you can see what you can discover about maths and patterns in maths by working on one of the following NRich activities.

https://nrich.maths.org/33 – exploring and finding pattern

https://nrich.maths.org/11819 – finding different ways to make 100

https://nrich.maths.org/consecutivenumbers  – finding patterns from consecutive numbers

https://nrich.maths.org/6402 – the remainders game – fun and challenging!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.  Looks like more sunshine.  I will look forward to posting for you again soon.
