Good morning all, what another lovely sunny day it was yesterday. It makes me smile to hear the animals from Gorgie Farm enjoying being outdoors.
Whilst I have been working from home I have been following the newly opened (Although closed at the moment)
LOVE Gorgie Farm on twitter and facebook, where they do live tours around the farm and stream a variety of activities that you can do at home. Yesterday they were showing you how to make a bug hotel out of household materials including toilet and kitchen rolls and plastic bottles. So, for all you that love nature, it might be worth a visit. They also have a website: www.gorgiecityfarm.org.uk

Today’s Literacy Learning
I have had a few enquiries with regards to the Book Commercial Task so for those of you needing some support or reminder of how to do them here goes:
Basically a book commercial is a way of selling a book to others that you have enjoyed. Just as shops use commercials to persuade us to buy their products you are creating a commercial to try and persuade others to read your book.
Instructions
- Choose a book that you have read and enjoyed and you think other people would enjoy to.
- Get an A4 sheet of paper and fold in half to look like a book.
- Recreate the front cover of your chosen book onto the front page of your commercial, remember this does not have to be a perfect replica.
- On the inside pages you get your chance to sell the book to others by using descriptive vocabulary to grab our attention. For example; Awesome Read, Exciting Adventure, Magical Worlds. Anything that you think will hook someone in.
- You could also choose a WOW sentence from the book and add that.
- You could focus on the main character and tell us about them.
- You could include information on the age range or genre of the book.
The only limit is your imagination!
Have fun and remember do as much as you can 😊
Then if possible email me your work to: admin@prestonstreet.edin.sch.uk
Happy Day

From Mr Anderson
Good morning P7B. How are we today? I hope you are managing to get outside and are taking advantage of the good weather. I know I am when I’ve finished all my work and helped Emily to do her nursery activities. Yesterday we created fabulous bunny masks and hopped around our garden. However, less about my antics. What is on the menu today?
Oh, almost forgot. If you would like me to post your fabulous Social Studies poster/PowerPoints, please send them to the following address so I can post them in tomorrow’s blog. admin@prestonstreet.edin.sch.uk.
Mr. Anderson 😊

From Mr Parkin
Hello the P7s!
As always I hope you are getting on well.
I was in the hub school yesterday and it was great to see a few familiar faces!
First of all below is the answer grid from yesterdays Mental Maths

Today we are going to continue our Mental Maths using the same website but a different idea-
Number of the Day
This is the website – https://mathsbot.com/starters/numberOfTheDay
It should be fairly straight forward – you can either choose to use the number and questions you first see or have a play about to suit your ability level.
You can choose the range that the Number of the Day is between and there are 4 difficulty levels – Challenge being the most difficult.
You may see some words which you are not overly familiar with – feel free to research what these are asking you to do!!
As always please get in touch with any of your completed work or questions!
Take care 🙂
