Good morning P7b, well here we are nearing the end of our first week of home learning. I hope you have been having fun, not just with the tasks that have been set but also spending time with your family. Remember the tasks are optional and need to fit in with your home life. I took some time yesterday to join in with the rainbow art challenge here is what I will be displaying in my window. Unfortunately I couldn’t take the photo from outside as I live two floors up!!

Rainbow challenge 2

As you may have noticed I have found the colour change button for text and have reverted to my favourite blue!

Yesterday I asked about your favourite Walt Disney movie. I had a long think about mine and found it harder than I thought. In the end it came down to a choice of two:

Beauty and the Beast or Big Hero 6!

Both equally (In my opinion) great films however the challenge was to select one so here goes…

My favourite Disney movie is…

Big Hero 6. I love the character of Baymax, he is original and unique. I love how he helps Hiro through such a challenging time in his life.

The supporting cast are a great mix of personalities all different in their own right. The way Baymax brings them together as a team worked for me. I enjoyed the goofiness, action and caring aspects of this film.

As a favourite character I like to draw Baymax so below are some of my drawings!

So today’s home leaning tasks for literacy are:

Try to:

·         continue with spelling practice

·         Continue to work on your literacy challenge

·         Try some of the tasks you haven’t tried yet

·         Read for enjoyment

Remember these tasks are optional just do as much as you are able and enjoy spending time with your family and if safe go outside.

From Mr Anderson

Good morning P7B. I hope all is well in your household. Yesterday I had a flashback to a bizarre conversation we had in our classroom a couple of weeks ago. If memory serves me right, I think it was Zara R that instigated it all. Zara had asked me if I had ever grown a beard. My answer was yes and therefore she kindly asked me to grow another one so the class could see what I would look like. So, never wanting to disappoint you all, I shall reveal a photo of it on Friday. 😊

From Mr Parkin

Good morning P7,

Hope all well with you today and that you will pass on that joke for generations to come!

Today’s maths learning is a refresher of multiplying & dividing decimals by multiples 10, 100, 1000 (Page 38 and 39 of booklet). The first third of each page gives a brief recap on how place value can be used for this followed by a ‘rule’ (strategy) for doing so.

More maths?

Make sure you are taking time to look after yourselves and those around you, if you still have a yearning for learning then try this…

https://mathsstarters.net/numoftheday/  This website is good as a quickfire blast of maths, if you are answering the questions correctly then why not time yourself and see if your times improve each day – they should with practice!

As I said last week to those of you who were in – one of the reasons that teaching P7 this year is great  is because of your attitude towards your learning. Keep a positive mindset during these bemusing times…

Take care

Mr Parkin 🙂

So P7b that’s it for Thursday, missing you all.
