We have been having lots of exciting learning experiences in P5 over the last few weeks, especially the egg drop challenge! The children discussed, created and designed egg boxes out of shredded paper, cotton wool, newspaper, tape and old wallpaper. The mission was to protect the egg from a fall of 3 metres, great fun and most survived!

The new school library is up and running. Well done to everyone for all their hard work in making it such a lovely place to come and lose yourself in a book, or staring out the fish!! Thank you Mrs Nimbley from everyone in P5 and well done to the library monitors too!

Some examples of spelling fun using the small whiteboards as a pre unit quiz before getting down to the textbook and jotter work….

There were some fantastic examples of dressing up as a character from a favourite novel to celebrate world book day 2022! Great costumes guys!

At drumming this week Jordan organized the children into groups and the task was to create a beat using any part of the body as well as the PE hall floor. The creativity and imagination was fantastic, well done to everyone!

Amro has been telling all the children about his love of trains and has presented numerous entertaining ‘show and tells’. Well done Amro, Mr Durkin is a train enthusiast too!

And finally, Fraser definitely gets the prize for the biggest snowball of the year so far! Pity the snow melted so fast but it’s nice that spring seems to be on the way. Well done to the P5 class, keep up the enthusiastic attitude towards all learning.

Take care everyone.

Mr Durkin.
