A huge well done to our indoor athletics team who won the Sportshall Athletics ‘B’ Schools competition at Meadowbank Sports Centre on Monday 14th November 2022.

Our team of 14 boys and 14 girls did fantastically well across a range of track and field events, coming in first place out of six competing schools.

There were 22 events in the competition altogether, with teams being awarded points for coming in each position from first to sixth. Altogether, we came first in 10 events and second in 6 – a remarkable level of consistency – and were highest scorers in both girls’ and boys’ events.

The pupils’ success was the result of a lot of hard work and preparation, and is also testament to the very high levels of sporting participation which we have cultivated over the years at Preston Street, both through curricular sporting events and extra-curricular clubs and activities.

We look forward to participating in the city finals on Monday 23rd January, when we will compete against the various ‘A’ Schools who have qualified from their own competitions.
