Sports Day
Today p1a were all fantastic at their first school Sports Day. All the children tried very hard and had a lot of fun taking part in the different races. It was lovely to see all the children working as a team and cheering each other on. Well done p1, you all did so well!
Eid Party
On Wednesday we had an Eid party at school and the children enjoyed taking part in various activities include paper weaving, arts and craft and listening to a story in Urdu. In the hall the children played pass the parcel, corners and had fun dancing!
Topic
As part of our animal topic we have been learning about animal food chains and different animal life cycles.
Literacy
The children have been enthusiastically practising their cursive writing over the last few weeks and most of us are remembering to think about the size of our letters. We have also been working on unscrambling sentences to write them in the correct order. In writing this week the children were reflecting about how they felt when they started p1. Lots of the children said they felt nervous, anxious, worried and excited.
Maths
In maths over the last 2 weeks the children have been learning to recognise, describe and sort 2d and 3D shapes according to various criteria. The children had a shape hunt in the classroom and in the playground. This week we have been starting a new topic of fractions and the children were learning to share a group of items equally into smaller groups.
