Assembly: Friday 19th June 10am
Theme: Kindness and Gratitude
Celebrating: an opportunity to show our teachers and support staff how much we appreciate all that they do
Warm Up Song
Nina Simone’s I Wish I Knew How it Would Feel To Be Free. An amazing song, with links to the Black Lives Matter movement.
A notable act of kindness and gratitude in the news this week, comes from one of Mr Hoyle’s heroes. Marcus Rashford grew up in a single parent family in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester. His family did not have much money and his mum would stay up late at night worrying about how she was going to feed her family. Rashford now plays football for Manchester United and England. Here he is doing his day job.
In the last few weeks Marcus Rashford has successfully led a campaign to convince Boris Johnson to change a decision about providing free school meals for children. Rashford used his online following to create positive pressure to create a change that will help children 1.3 million children in England over the summer holidays. Learn more about this on Newsround.
And finally…
Thank you to all the #superpandas who sent in messages of thanks for your teachers. If yours does not feature in the movie below, we can still pass it on to your teachers.
This is for all our staff team from our Preston Street children.
And some lovey individual messages too 🙂
