Welcome to Primary 2. We have had a wonderful two weeks as a class and have gotten to know each other very well which has helped us all settle in.

We have spent a lot of time outdoors in our Mud Kitchen and at Holyrood park. While exploring these places we have all worked well together to create lots of learning opportunities such as digging for bugs and climbing on ropes between trees at Holyrood Park and creating wonderful chalk drawings during our time by the Mud Kitchen. We have all enjoyed using our imaginations to make this learning exciting and it has given us lots of ideas for what we would like to do outdoors in future learning.

Within the classroom we have been working on revisiting our P1 learning from literacy and numeracy to slowly get us back into a working mindset after our long holiday! We have really enjoyed our Tuff Tray activities for our common words practice and we have found that creating models with 2D shapes has been a really good way to get creative within our numeracy lessons.
